See below to check if you meet the requirements to receive a free NHS eye test. If you believe that you qualify for an NHS funded eye examination and help with the cost of spectacles please can you bring confirmation of your entitlement or benefits with you.
FREE NHS Eye Test - are you entitled?

Under 16yrs
-
16 - 18yrs in full time education

60yrs or over
-
​Diagnosed with diabetes or glaucoma

Considered to be at risk of glaucoma (As advised by an ophthalmologist)

40yrs or over and the parent, brother, sister, son or daughter of a person diagnosed with glaucoma
-
Registered sight impaired or severely sight impaired
-
Eligible for an NHS Complex Lens Vouchers
-
Or if you are claiming benefits (Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income Related Employment Support Allowance, Universal Credit, Income Support, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit or receiving Tax Credits and meeting qualifying conditions)

On a low income and named on a valid HC2 (full help) or HC3 (partial help) certificate
Optical Voucher - are you entitled?
