From Hampshire to Hollywood: A Well-Earned Recognition for Kelly Eyecare

From the 13th–17^th of May, Kelly Eyecare Directors Sonia and Mike travelled to California after achieving outstanding results in EssilorLuxottica's California Dreams promotion.

The initiative recognised optical businesses across the UK for their success in supporting patients with innovative lens technologies, including Transitions lenses. Thanks to the dedication of the Kelly Eyecare team and the continued support of our patients, Kelly Eyecare achieved 8th place in the business category and 14th place nationally overall, earning Sonia and Mike a place on the exclusive trip.

Learning from Industry Leaders

The experience brought together optical professionals from across the UK and provided a unique opportunity to learn more about developments in lens technology, eyewear innovation and patient care.

California is home to some of the optical industry's most recognised brands, and the trip offered valuable insight into the innovation and technology helping to shape the future of eye care. It also provided an opportunity to connect with fellow optical professionals and celebrate success within the industry.

One of the topics discussed at length was the rapid development of AI-powered smart glasses. While this technology is attracting significant attention and is expected to play an increasingly important role in the future of eyewear, the current options remain limited in terms of frame design and long-term comfort. Although AI glasses aren't something we currently offer at Kelly Eyecare, the team will continue to monitor developments closely and assess when the technology is ready to offer the level of quality, comfort and style our patients expect.
